Given that we've all got cards for banks/office/library/travel with the attendant issues of remembering password/pin numbers/etc, would you be willing to take this step... Or would the thought of the "powers that be" keeping track of you through your chip put you off.

I personally think it is fraught with many dangers, ie what happens if you change job/house/country of residence? Seems to be a step to far in our connected world.

I wouldn't want my hand falling into the wrong hands!

Can't believe some people still haven't heard of bluetooth or even contactless transfers.
I wouldn't want my hand falling into the wrong hands!
oh aye hc, didn't think of that- blonde moment on my part eh? LOL

Then yes, id do it, all for progress me like ;-)
I can't believe it either. I also think it's a bit much asking people to travel to Situ to get it reprogrammed
Of course I'd not consider doing that. Those early adopters are creating a rod for the rest of the community. A gimmick today becomes an obligation tomorrow. The very idea is repugnant. I am not a chip, I am an individual. And that's before analysing practical reasons to back up the inevitable disgust of the idea. It's not a step too far, it compares better to a trip abroad too far.
And the worlds still flat and they'll never get you on one of those new fangled flying machines eh OG?

;-)
I can't believe some people still think the world is flat.........sigh!
Or on the other hand, the world is now full of perfect folk who will never let tech be used to monitor/control others. And you will always adopt anything put to you ? ;-)

hell yeah, im a sucker for gadgets and gizmos!

Then again, maybe your GP could program the chip to monitor your BP/blood sugar/ insulin etc, that'd remove the need to overload the GP with repeat visits for the worried well.
Just an alternative thought.
That sort of thing is already in the pipeline for Type I diabetics.
I'm with OG; I would rather live without medication than have it monitored via a chip. Imagine the control the authorities and employers could realise with these. I wouldn't even take a job that involved clocking in mind you! But the chip is not a joke its a terrifying reality.
