Drop-Down Boxes Don't Appear

Hi all.
Sometimes my PC doesn't show the options for drop-down boxes when filling in forms for example. Either the options flash on momentarily and disappear or clicking on the arrow does nothing. This did happen before and then disappeared after a few days. Anyone else have this problem or a solution?
(Running Windows 7, Avast, Malwarebytes, Firefox. No viruses or malware from recent scans.)

There are many websites mentioning same problem if you google windows 7 and drop down menus. I read one forum and somebody found it was a problem with their mouse. Different mouse and it was ok. This may or may not help, but just to say you are not alone it seems.

Could be a PC resource issue. Got a lot running ? Does a PC restart help ?

Grasscarp: I see what you mean. I have a similar mouse to that mentioned in some of the posts so might try a different one to see if it fixes the problem.

For the record, it started working normally again later in the day before I changed anything. Weird...
