access rights
i have an 8-year-old daughter.at the moment her "dad" does not pay maintenance(and never has done). i am thinking of contacting the c.s.a. but if he starts to pay for her does this go in his favour in terms of gaining the right to see her if ever he was to apply to the court for access? (i have to date had endless amounts of trouble from this guy and my daughter dispises him. i have always said hat i do not want nor need his money but being a single parent-i'd like to be able to put more away for her future.

My ex took me to court for a defined access order even though he has paid only 300 maintenance in 3 years, the court aren't interested in who pays what (even though they should be!).even if he did go to court everything would go in your favour as your the parent with care.good luck.
He is her father so he should help pay for what she needs whether it is for now or for her future.Him paying does NOT go in his favor for visitation rights. The court will look at what kind of father he is and what kind of impact he would have in your daughters life, and whether visitation would be a good idea or not.But him paying child support has no impact on whether he gets to see her or not.
If his preffered method of "rest and relaxation" are drink and drugs I wouldnt hold out much hope of getting ANY money off him, I would say you better off forgetting about him. I know its hard money wise but I really cant see the CSA getting any cash off him, he should willingly support his own kids!!! Take care, BT.
As a single mum to 3 children for the last 8 years, I have to say the csa are a total waste of time, When I first left alone with my children I couldn't work, due to them being so young, As I went onto benefits I had to put a claim in even tho i told them at the time that they were wasting their time, in the last 8 years I have 15 off their dad (which he gave to me willingly nothing to do with csa) about a year ago i was informed that as he was working he should pay just short of 100 a week for the 3 children, great news as I had just reached a stage in my life where i was able to go out to work, he worked for about 6 months then left his job without paying a penny when i contacted the csa they said that the case was closed and even tho he hadn't paid anything while he was working he did not owe any arrears
