Who are the favourites? do you think a GS is possible this year?
I'm going with Ireland and I think they are good enough to do a GS. Obviously I'm supporting England but I don't think we are quite good enough with what we have but I guess lower expectations can often be fruitful. To all the Ireland supporters, I'm comming over to Lansdowne rd on March 1st and I am looking forward to your hospitality.

Speaking as an Ireland supporter I wish I was so optimistic.
The half backs are a big issue for starters.
As a Scotland supporter NO! The standard remarks are 'they defended well' or worse 'Scotland are improving'. They have been improving for over 20 years!!

Just pretend you are playing England in every game Gav and you'd win hands down!
Those who set the betting odds for such tournaments will have studied the 6 Nations from each and every angle and i have just had a look at the prices on offer at the moment. Ireland are favourites at around 2/1, with England 2nd favs @ 5/2. Then come Wales @ 3/1 in general, France on 6/1 with Scotland not quite the outsiders on @ 33/1. The Italians are rank outsiders @ 500/1. The odds compilers would appear to believe that there will be no grand slam this year with their price of 8/11 for 'no winner'. If you do fancy any of the sides to do the 'slam', then; 6/1 Ireland and England, Wales 7/1, France 14/1, Scotland 66/1 and Italy 1000/1 (1,500/1 with Betvic).
