Sebo Vacuum Cleaner Gone Wrong

Our Sebo vac is not picking up through the brushes, it sucks beautifully through the hose, I can see no clogs anywhere, there is a small roller with the brushes which I think should go up and down with the carpet height, but it does not. Is this what is wrong - I phoned the hotline but they want receipt details etc and I don't know where this is, if I have still got it. It's a brilliant cleaner, I would have no other.....

Broken belt?

If it's a Sebo X series, there's a "Clog light" on the front of the machine notifying you of a full canister or clog in the system. If that's not on, I suspect you have, as the other answer infers, a broken belt to the carpet brush mechanism. Even if there was a clog in the neck of the brush mechanism the "Canister Full - Clog" light would illuminate...
