I know - I have often thought about how cats all over the world are about the same size and shape. I don't suspect that there will be much that can be done with the final information. But who knows?

I have changed my avatar to my little girl - Merlin Warrior Princess. She looks so sweet and innocent - she is neither.

The Bengal in my avatar resides at my house in Co. Cavan so I was only too glad to participate in the survey.

I completed the survey, my cat and most cats around me are calico, mine being mainly white with orange and a bit of black around tail and ears - and its a she (poppy) that scratches my favourite bit of outdoor furniture :( SE of Ireland

more fascinating than you think

In meeces ( not cats but so what ) coat colour is partially carried on the X chromosome. Girls have two and boys have one ( X chr ) . Mary Lyon had a good look at this and said ) 1962 the only explanation is that girls turn off on a random basis half of their X chr.

It was later called lyonisation

A FB friend has two gingers and a visiting ginger feral. I have only seem a couple in my whole life.

Cats fascinate me and frustrate me.

The bit that interests me about cats most is the psychology.

After years of having a dog as a companion I was adopted by a cat.

The first morning he woke me up at three so that I could feed him. This, I was told, is normal.

They all seem to have different methods of attention seeking.

How do they learn all this? They are taught much by their cat mum but what about the rest?

Typing on this Kindle takes ages. Maybe I will help Frankie and Princess Merlin/Stupid write their book tomorrow. The battling siblings want me let them get under the duvet.

I completed the survey from Belfast,with a gorgeous tiger tabby:-). For ducksie, we had a holiday in Bantry (s w ireland) some years ago,and I noticed that the only cats in the town I saw were all marmalade or tortoiseshell tabbies. There were lots of small beach flints too with those colours,so I picked up a couple to remind me of all those cats;-)

Tabbies are normally quite gorgeous.

My two are black and white born to a feral mum. Frankie is short coated and a lovely cat. Merlin is long haired (pic in my avatar), stupid and vicious. Two different dads I think.

I hope they discover something useful from this survey.
