Can anyone recommend a toaster which does what it is supposed to do ie toast a normal toasty sized slice of bread on both sides at the same time? We have tried various models by well known names, and they are all failing in their task, most seem to be made abroad - would that have anything to do with it, ie testing?

Currently using the Kenwood (4 slice, 2 compartments not 4) Model KE-TTM920. It does the job every time but it did cost me about £80.
Just toast 2 slices at once and lay the bread down, not upright.
We have one of these, (but not in this particular colour may I add) and have found it quite good, and at only £24.99, it is very good value for money.

I'm finding that some of toasters can't take a decent UK size slice of bread!
i have a morphy richards 4 slice toaster and find it excellent .
I like the colour of the one in AOG's link.

I have a Delonghi one and it has done well - I have managed to set fire to three of my previous toasters.
My friends spent over £70 on a toaster which looked good in their kitchen, but made rotten toast. Mine came from tesco's budget range (£5 at the time) and the toast is absolutely fine.
We have a Dualit (sp) 2 slice toaster,it must be 20yrs old and it's still going strong.
Our Morphy Richards 4-slice toaster does what it's supposed to.
I'm with Neti, bread never fits neatly into a toaster properly, it's irritating.
We have one of theses (only in silver) it works really well and I'm fussy about my toast. https://www.pricelover.com/product/Breville_VTT315_Lime_Stainless_Steel_4_Slice_Toaster/VTT315/
Bought a new toaster (Swan) a few weeks ago, have to force the bread in as it never fits properly - drives me mad! I emailed Swan and they said that not all bread is the same size (news to me), but I don't know anyone else who has this problem (apart from Net now).
