Apparently a microwave is out favourite kitchen gadget closely followed by knives.....are knives a gadget?????

I'm quite surprised by this and wondered what you consider to be your essential kitchen gadget and how just how ubiquitous the microwave is in homes?

Agas are worth it, every penny, boxtops....

I have to say my Aga - it does the central heating makes a fab rice pudding -is the original slow cooker and you can have a kettle on there ready to boil at no cost to your electric bill .

a tenner a week to run them plus £120 on an oil one for two services to clean and replace the wick, the one here is over 50 years - cooking, kettles, kitchen heating, cat palace (that'll get Boxie) and water heating inc.

We've had a few lambs in the bottom oven over the years (to warm up not to cook lol!)
