Is there a mileage limit you can be asked to move to another office as an alternative to redundancy?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.More companies specify a "reasonable travelling time limit or distance" but I suspect there is also an arguable case if you were being made redundant and lived in a rural country district which only had two buses a day and you didn't have your own transport to enable you to travel to a relocated job 20 miles a day.
I'm not sure whether such a case has ever been tested but suggest you check out the ACAS website, unless there are any employment lawyers on this site who can offer more specific advice.
