tail light bulb has blown, and stupid as it seems, how do you get the cover off to replace it? Thanks in advance, its a 2008 3.5t long wheel base thanks again

Are the retaining nuts within the rear body Pillars, these are normally covered by removable shields.

the retaining nuts are in the pillars but does the whole light cluster unit have to be removed just to change a bulb?

Yes, I think it will Kevin, be careful on removal / Replacing, Its expensive to replace & you might crack the bulbs on replacement.
