Cold Calls

I have just been phoned by a company which I found out was called Legal Services after doing 1471. The number was 01756 459030 The dialling code is for Skipton North Yorkshire. The young lady on the phone wanted to know if I'd been affected by noisy work environment. I told her that I don't want any cold calls and she just said, quite rudely, this isn't a cold call and hung up.

I tried to call back but was put on hold until an operator was free as my call was important to them

Has any one else had call from this number

They have been ringing around here for two weeks now-first one was polite last nights slammed the phone down when I said no one had worked in industry. Just hang up on them.

Just keep saying "Pardon?" until they get fed up! ;-))

I am also down (erroneously) on a list of those liable to have hearing damage from a noisy workplace.


It has tailed off now since I told them I wasn't.

I've had a couple of those......my last place of work was a unit for deaf children using sign language...oh the noise we made!...☺

When withheld numbers come up I just say Ching Ching takeaway how can I help you . They hang up . Works well since I started that calls got less and less and hardly any now . Better than any pref services .

We have had quite a few of these, I have slight hearing loss, but not because of working in industry. I just say I haven't and hang up.

I get cold calls regularly, some from actual people and some from a recorded message. The ones from people are along the lines of:

"We are calling regarding the car accident you had in the last 2 years".
Me: I have not had any accidents in the last 2 years.
"What about someone one your insurance?"
Me: No one has had an accident in my car in the last 2 years.
"Are you sure?"
Me: Where the hell have you got my number from?
"Your number was passed to us from your insurer"
Me: Take me off your cold call list and eff off!

We had them and saved the number with the ringtone "Monty Python" with other spam numbers. When they never get a reply they soon give up.
