In August of last year I purchased a Michael Kors Rose Gold watch from Amazon. It has rarely been worn and unfortunately one of the Case Pin Screws securing the strap to the watch casing fell out.
It could not be repaired at a local jewellers so was sent to Michael Kors authorised service centre in Milton Keynes. They replaced two case pin screws at the same end of the watch strap with the wrong finish ( brushed finish rather than polished screws). and when I received it back the watch strap had damage on it. The plating on the strap was abraded down to the base metal.
It was not damaged before it was sent and no possibility of damage to it cold have occurred during transit to them as I had it wrapped in copious amounts of bubble wrap and placed in a postage box.
They now want to charge me for a new strap and they say it was not purchased through an authorised dealer.
Was it actually purchased from Amazon themselves, or from a third-party via the Amazon Marketplace?
Did you use a credit card for the purchase? If it cost over £100 then the credit card company has responsibiliy for the item being of merchantable quality :
