Does everything ahve to be turned into a scientific and political issue, and if so, why? I'm sure there are alternatives to the family (by which I assume you mean the traditional 'nuclear' family, but if most people are brought up a two-parent environment, so what? Not all homes are nests of violence and dysfunction.
