Phone Has Kind Of Corrupted All My Photos...?

My phone - a samsung note
has 'corrupted' all my photos - they were there in the phone when they were taken and there for a good while after - but today when i tried to download them onto my computer they are all 'there' but wont open - they just show as a grey square with an outline of a figure - and a kind of lightening symbol in the top corner, no thumbnails - windows just says it cannot open any of them!

Any ideas why this has happened? Can i retrieve them - i can understand why they are just not opening - its not even as though i have accidentally deleted them ... they are just not right

My Samsung deleted all my photos, one minute they were on the card and the next the card was empty. There were 73 pictures there

It sounds like you dont have a suitable programme on your PC to open them, or you have changes the saving preferences f your pics and saved them as something unrecognised by your PC.

you could have removed your sd card and backed it all up on your comp,you've got a copy of it then

ive just noticed that although the thumnails arent showing, some of the pics will open, but the last 2 months worth just wont.
there are about 4 programs i have tried on my comp and none work - the images are jpegs but one had an error message regarding the format.

when i took them, they appeared to save - and i know a couple of them were sent through snapchat and email, so they saved at the time and stayed on the phone for a little while at least ...

and just a few mins ago, one of the images - that i only took a day or two ago - showed up in a thumbnail, and its gone again!

Windows won't open any pictures on my phone. However, it will let me copy them to my PC, and once there, they open perfectly.

I have a Galaxy Note 3 and and all my pictures open on my phone and my PC. On windows 7open
