Phone Problem

I have a Samsung Galaxy. Last night I put it on charge. This morning it still said charging. So I unplugged it. It was just showing the Samsung fading in and out emblem, then changed to the galaxy symbol with all moving lines.(if you have one you'll know what I mean) I couldn't get any sound from it or any life, these symbols kept on interchanging for hours. I took the battery out and replaced it again. Still no change. Eventually everything vanished from screen. Can't get any life out of it at all. Can anyone help please.

That sounds like you need a new battery.
