Software Updates.

I know this should be in technology but no one on there tonight.
My iPad keeps doing software updates that throw me off the internet. I have to keep going to settings and cancel the updates. Is there anyway I can make the updates do it at a convenient time?

To the best of my knowledge (but remembering that I've never even touched an iPad, yet alone used one!) you can't enter your own time settings.

However you can turn 'Automatic Downloads' off (and then occasionally turn it on again when you don't mind your iPad busying itself with the downloads):
