Our group of friends have known each other since school....primary school in one case, and we've always stuck with each other through the good and the bad....we're all male.

Next year, the 5 of us all turn 50. The first birthday is at the end of Feb with mine being the last in August.

Having a chat last night, we thought it would be good to do something together but could only come up with the usual weekend in Amsterdam etc etc.

We'd like to maybe do a weekend doing something....either with or without the other halves (preferably without lol)...we'll all have our individual celebrations on our birthdays.

So any suggestions? We like a beer, enjoy good food, we're not quite as active as we used to be, not into any form of drugs or prostitutes.

Do you want to get away from it all? Hire a narrowboat for a long weekend.
butlins weekend ?
The narrowboat is a good idea.
As you have all known each other so long, have you a common interest you could base the break on, ie, walking in the lakes with good pub accommodation for your beer and food in the evening.
By the way you are only 50 you are young and should still be active.
Munich, good beer, good food.
Friends of ours really like Warner Leisure Hotels - and have been back several times. I think you get better rates for parties and they have hotels in various parts of the country. Might be worth looking at their web site
depends what sort of thing you like doing together, really - beer's a start but what else? Opera, beach, fell walking, archaeology... etc?
A beer festival in the Titanic quarter in Belfast, end of May
Few Ideas:

Dublin
Berlin
or stay in United Kingdom and try this place -we treated a few of our employees to a weekend here when they got a job done before schedule - its great as you can choose different activities to suit your abilities.

my husband recently went on a survival weekend in the cornish countryside as a stag do and really enjoyed it. Making your own tents and fires etc
