Outlook Toolbar

I have Windows 7 and Microsoft Office Outlook for emails. When preparing emails the control icons used to be on a horizontal bar across the top of the page. For some reason they have suddenly started appearing vertically down the left hand side and not so easy to read and use. How can I get them back to where they were before? I’ve twice tried system restore, but it doesn’t make any difference and cannot find how to drag them. Advice welcome please.

left-click in to bar and drag it to the top.

Mine's a very old Outlook Methyl, so you may well be right.

My Microsoft Office Outlook is also old, 2003, but it has only just started being awkward. Thanks for your answers. I'll take a bit of shut-eye now and look again in the morning.
