I was never a Trekkie or and kind of sci fi fan so can't comment on Spock...BUT, I liked Leonard Nimoy. I'd seen him interviewed on many occasions and he ALWAYS came as a really lovely person. May he RIP.

there were some classic lines from mr spock - this from "patterns of force". Spock is attempting to fashion an impromptu laser to get kirk and himself out of a prison cell:-

SPOCK: You realise that the aim will of course be very crude.
KIRK: I don't care if you hit the broad side of a barn. Just hurry, please.
SPOCK: Captain, why should I aim at such a structure?
