And so another year passes and having read the Times Rich List 2006 I'm still feeling somewhat disheartened that I'm yet again not in it.
Question is....does anyone on here pesonally know anyone in the list? I'm not asking if anyone is in it because there's not much chance of that.
The nearest I've got is having an interview with the joint 944th and turning them down. Thats 1 up to me then!!

Is there an online list so I can see and then I'd be able to comment

Who cares? Do you think your life would necessarily improve if you were included on the list?

If you could make the list but lose members of your family or your health, would you regard that as a fair exchange?

Actually Wendy yes I would be happy. Especially if I were self-made like many in the list are.
Its things like the list that give people ambition and goals. For me wanting to be rich is one of the only thing that keeps me motivated and wanting to go to work every day. Which rich self-made millionaires that you know of are unhappy and without friends and family?? I'm not talking about footballers and musicians, we're talking property ******* and entrepeneurs here. A totally different class of people.
Yes I know someone on the list .... they keep themselves to themselves and you would not really know they had loads of money except that they live in a very expensive area of London. They do sometimes have fear of kidnap though .... I don't think I would feel happy worrying about that all the time.
Hey crgb14 - I dont know anybody on the list, however I do know somebody that is and was extremely motivated by money- he got what he wanted and is now a very wealthy man living in a very swanky pad and he drives a brand new ferarri modena. When I met this person 8 years ago and he didnt have any money he was a completely different person to who he is now. Because his wealth is self made, and he certainly was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth- he now has major issues and doesnt trust anyone. He thinks everyone is only interested in a piece of his financial pie and are out for what they can get. What Im trying to say, Is money doesnt necessarily make you happy. It just makes you miserable in comfort. And people can change. Be careful what you wish for , it can create a negative domino effect on the rest of your life. Just my personal experience x
Actually I do know someone in the Irish rich list in the top 15... Nice enough
I know somebody very well who is in the top 30. Strange but interesting question though.
Had a full look and don't know of anyone on the list..

WendyS...I think everyones life would improve & people lose members of their family and suffer from bad health just in everyday living, but if I had a rich relative who died which made me inherit enough to be on the rich list (as I think that is your question) It's not really a fair exchange, but I would be soooooooo happy, and thankful.

Theres a few people more than 4 with the same surname as me. I know I have family I don't know around central england so maybe its about time I searched my family tree...
I once worked for and met the Duke of Devonshire. The old Duke was a real gentleman; he seemed the sort of person you would like to know as a friend. The new one is rather more 'distant', shall we say. He doesn't really strike me as someone I'd want to know.
