Fuel Prices.....time for more protests?

With the way fuel prices are rising yet again towards �1 per litre, and with all the usual politicking double-talk, is it not about time the masses got together to organise some more blockades of fuel depots and refineries?
We're always being told that we're in the top league of world economies so why do we sit back and meekly allow these situations to develop?
After all we are supposed to be a major oil producer ourselves.

Nice idea, one slight problem. The british public don't, as a rule, stick together. You get loads of support to start with then people lose interest and forget about what their supporting.

Ben Scammel who organized the fuel protests a few years ago instead of just whinging about it is trying to help all UK motorists to get cheaper fuel.

Go to the site and register now if you want cheaper fuel! He is well on the way to getting fuel discounts for all who register.

Because the 2000 fuel protests worked so well, didn't they? Completely brought the price of petrol down. Actually, all I remember is a bunch of self centred, ignorant buffoons blocking the roads and the moronic scramble for petrol at the filling stations which endangered pedestrians and children on their way back from school.

What do you mean? Fuel is far too cheap, if the masses can afford it, it must be too cheap! We are never going to remove people from their slow moving steel boxes without some radical policies. Politicians with some bottle required!

We're all a bit too apathetic to actually do anything, though, aren't we? Unlike the French.

BTW I think you've been listening to too much Blair-speak: you can't really believe this country is 'top league' can you? Education, healthcare, transport all in chaos and going down the pan, deeper in debt than we have been for years. Etc etc. The country is wrecked.

And I don't think we are still a major oil producer: hasn't production peaked and been dropping? Or am I thinking of gas?
