Firefox and answerbank = very high CPU.

My laptop has been using a lot of CPU - around 70% - and I could not figure it out at all.

With a lot of patience and experimenting - both on my computer and friends - it seems to be because I have answerbank open in Firefox.

It's a relief to know the reason - but I would love to know why.

Has anybody else experienced this?

Yep, me!
I have task manager open all the time because my confoozer used to slow up all of a sudden - and it�s definitely the AB! I just click on another bookmark and then back again and it goes back to normal for about 5-10 mins.
Would love to know what causes it though!

Hi Ethel, have you also noticed that sometimes the pages are still �loading� even when they�re apparently complete? Bloody egg timer!

I haven't noticed a problem with CPU load and AB/FF, though I use the IE Tabs extension for AB (so I can use the formatting options).

Ethel: running the latest version of FF? (1.5.0.2 I believe)

also, try running it in safe mode (should be an option in the start menu), and see if it does that on AB too.

Yes - I am up to date with FF.

Same in safe mode. :(

I had this problem with other sites also and I think it is down to the Flash plugin. Get the FlashBlock plugin from here and see if that resolves the issues :

I have this problem to some degree with every site I look at. I think it's down to Onspeed, because if I stop it, CPU falls back to normal.
Anyone else suffer from this?
