How does one go about finding friends in the netherlands after losing touch for nearly thirty years?

I recently found an old friend of my Dad's who he'd had no contact with for about 45 years. All I had to go on was the family name and the area in Australia they used to live. I did a search on google, put something like 'people finder' or 'people search' in the search bar and the result I used brought a list of 4 possibles up. I showed these to my Dad and he picked the most likely looking, I think he wrote to 2 of the 4 and he was over the moon to recieve a reply from his long lost pal and they are now in regular contact.

yeah, try friends reunited. i know quite a few people who have managed to get in contact with old friends-you do have to pay to be able to contact them tho
