There may be more interest now that the sentences have been passed, but I'm not sure.
I think all the reasons were given in the previous post hence it not going any further.
Dunno, I am not privvy to the legal reasons why they prosecuted for manslaught and not murder.

If the murder charge could not proven and they had got away with it, I suppose some would be on here saying they should have gone for the charge that would have the highest chance of a successful prosection.
As it is, they have got long sentences which is the main thing.
sounds like they were prosecuted for murder but found not guilty of it.
Probably a successful plea of diminished responsibility which has the effect of reducing a murder charge to one of voluntary manslaughter.
It's murder. They are sick and deranged. I have names for people like this, but I cannot use them on here! In case anyone else hasn't/can't checked the link provided, here is a very small snippit from a recorded phone conversation:
Muddar: Kill Polly's daughter. I'm not even joking. I'm not joking I'm going to ***g kill her. Seriously, Hemma, you will never ***g see me again.
Hemma: What happened?
Muddar: I'm ***g going to kill her. I swear to God I'm going to ***g kill her. I'll ***g strang. I will drown her in the ***g bath.
Hemma: Why do you say that? I've never heard you (inaudible).
Muddar: I ***g that c***. I will f****g drown that witch. Seriously I'm going to kill her. I'm going to ***g kill her Hemma and I'm going to go to prison tonight.
Hemma: (inaudible).
Muddar: Seriously I'll ***g kill her. I will ***g kill that ***.

Manslaughter? I think not

But surely that transcript is evidence of diminished responsibility.
how?
Dreadful story....that poor little girl. This has made me think of Daniel Pelka all over again.
