Search Bars

why do people need a search bar ? i just google everything.they just take up screen space to me, never had one in my 15 years computing

In most modern browsers the address bar is also the search bar, so effectively the search bar takes up zero room. If you configure your address bar search properties to use google, then you won't need to go to the google site.

Perhaps ivor4781 you will explain what you mean by a search bar. Is it the narrow box alongside the address box, in the Tool bar section at top of page.

Apple have a combined url bar and search bar. It works great.

So you mean the additional toolbars such as the eBay toolbar, the Amazon toolbar and the thousands of others.

I don't use those either, I prefer a minimalist browser.

then you tell us you dont use them and havent for 15 years because it takes up screen space ....
