Holiday Flights

We are currently trying to get compensation for a flight to Cyprus ,3 years ago with Thomas Cook.As TC were being very difficult it is in the hands of a solicitor that deals mainly with this type of case.However we are constantly being asked to prove that we were on that flight,because we have no booking ref or boarding pass (after all this time )we are at a loss what to do , we have a screen shot of the amount for flights that went out of our bank account. Is there any way you can look up who was on that flight ?

I do not think there will be records of passengers now. Did you actually get the flight or was there a problem with it, delay, cancellation , diversion or whatever?

Surely your solicitor (specialist?) should know how to request a manifest? Did you purchase anything on board using a credit / debit card?

The bank accounts prove only that you paid for flights not which flight they were or if you actually got on. Unless the airline still has passenger lists I think you are stuck.

flight was supposed to leave from Newcastle at 9am but we did not board flight till 3pm, then had to go via Manchester as crew were out of time, nearly midnight Cyprus time when we landed and no, we did not use a credit card on flight. The whole time that we have been with these solicitors (15mths) they have known we did not have these details. Yes Zacs, I would have thought the solicitors would be able to get these details.

If the 'specialist' solicitors can't get proof of who was on the flight I can't see that anyone on AB will know a way.
I hope that you signed a 'no win no fee' agreement or you are likely to end up with no compensation and a large solicitors bill.

There could have been somebody else on the flight who has trying claiming compensation from TC. They may have been able to obtain a list of the persons on the flight and it may/may not show your name. They may be willing to share this document.

Can your solicitor not try to obtain this ?

How much are you hoping to claim ? As far as I can see the maximum for delayed / diverted flight is £250 a person. Is it worth 15 months of hassle with solicitors.

Yes it is no win , no fee, its about 440 euros I think.Its worth it cos we dont have to do anything.

To be honest after 15 months I'd let the solicitors get on with it and forget it. What %age of the 440 euros will they charge if they recovered it? Hardly seems worth it, i'd certainly not go looking for info myself. Either that or go to another solicitor.
