I need some hard evidence proving that they aren't brothers to prove a couple of my friends wrong, can anyone help?

Get a picture of both, and show them to your friends, one is a short tubby funny man the other is not. Also when Peter Kay had his Bolton show much of his family was there along with celebs, Vernon wasn't. Also he often talks about family holidays a brother is never mentioned just Mam, Dad and a sister.You could try and get wedding pics from Verns & Tes, to show no Pete.

Most people would say Peter Kay was funny, but not Keith Laird. A bristly-moustached fire officer from Bolton, Laird felt that Kay's portrayal of Keith Lard on That Peter Kay Thing and later Phoenix Nights (a bristly-moustached Bolton fire officer) bore too striking a resemblance to himself - he particularly objected to Lard's disturbing fondness for interfering with dogs. Laird sued Channel 4 for �10,000 and won.

You can't say that about Vernon.
