18 Answers
I have just tried to order some groceries (that I have had before) from one of the big supermarkets that shall remain nameless but "every little helps" only to find that certain brands have been removed from sale such as R*se's lime cordial, sch you know who's tonic water and ginger ale, certain canned soups, beans and pasta sauces all of these are readily available from other supermarkets but have been withdrawn from sale by this market leader, why? what is going on

I was sorry to learn that you have been left feeling unhappy with a number of items being discontinued in our stores. I can appreciate your upset, especially as the R*ses Lime Cordial is now unavaialble, yet available in other retailers stores.
Due to an interruption of service, we are temporarily adjusting our soft drinks, canned soup, canned beans, pasta and sauces ranges to help maintain the best possible range for our customers.

Tesco are notorious for late payments to suppliers. I think some of them are now refusing to supply Tesco unless they get paid on time. It was reported that Tesco keep some suppliers waiting over 6 months for payment. They just assume they are so big they can do as they like. Now that Tesco are losing trade they are probably trying to extend payment times even more and the suppliers have finally had enough.
In my experience if there is a brand or product I particularly like, sooner or later the stocks get run down and one can not get that brand any more.
If you write to the manufacturer they say they are still producing/selling, and give you a possible retail place miles & miles away that you will not be interested in making a trip to.
Seems to be the normal practice as retailers play manufacturers against each other, and replace lower selling or profit brands of good quality with more 'stack them high and charge low but rip off prices' items instead.
