Yesterday I wasnt able to get connected to most sites.I was able to connect to 1 site which seemed to be running properly though slowly.Others on the sirte reported similar findings. We were using a range of providers and set ups and were from all over the UK.I havent seen this mentioned anywhere online or newspapers etc.As far as I know it lasted at least 6 hours ( when I gave up ) but it may have been much longer. Did anyone else have trouble?

Hey banana
Yeah I did but for only about 1/2 hour - I thought it was damn NTL mucking me around again but, as usual, they never answered their phone to let me now either way ;oP
Apparently (according to Virgin Net) someone or some people were targeting all DNS servers and bombarding them with data (?) of some kind. Causing a mass overload. That's all I know!
Ditto, what PaulB said.
Had the same problem, and made the same assumption as PaulB. There was some apology/explanation on the NTL Homepage, but it's not there now. (Also they've removed NTLHellworld, so I can'r check there).
It was all down to a damaged cable..... see here: http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/6/34204.html
