Who will help?
9 Answers
The little jack russell X who lives along the street from me is pregnant, again! This is her 10th litter now, she's had a litter every time she's come into season. She roams the street all day and gets caught as a result. The vet has told the owner any more litter and she'll die. I also have suspicions that the last litter and a couple before that were killed at birth!! Who can help in this situation? I cant see the RSPCA taking her as she does have a good home (when she's in it) and seems quite happy otherwise, but im just thinking about the poor puppies who wont get a chance in life!

Mind you ,thinking about it, all they do is round her up, and then the owner will collect her from them.
I'm not sure what you can do in this situation, I understand and sympathise with how you feel here, but as she's not mistreated and is well fed etc etc etc, there's not a whole lot you can do.
The OP says 'she has a good home' and yet you're talking about stealing someone's pet. How do you know the home she ends up in will be any better, apart from being neutered on the way. Or even if she'd get another proper home? You'd remove her from a home she knows and where she is (for the most part) cared for to an unknown?
Some people have an almost religous aversion to having their pets neutered. I know a person like this. It doesn't matter to them how cruel repeated pregnancies are, they see the removal of what is a pretty basic part of the dog as even worse. Personally, while I can see where they're coming from, I feel on balance it is crueller to allow the dog to suffer permanent pregnancy. And then there's the problem of the pups...
If you really feel compelled to do something, why not just 'borrow' the dog for a couple of days and get it neutered. Then return it.
