When scrolling, the page will on some occasions jump upwards or downwards without me moving the wheel. There doesn`t appear to be a problem with the mouse.
Anyone any ides as to what could be causing this.
Any suggestion greatly appreciated.

im not to tatical but looks like the page is uploading slowly then catching up on the place where your curser is
Check that your mousemat is clean, i.e. no crumbs, no debris, however small.
As weecalf said (sort of) Some pages load all the text first, then the pictures. If they do it that way, then at each point where a picture is inserted, the text below shoots down. If there are lots of pics of various sizes down the page, the result can be that the page appears to jerk all over the place - especially if you've already scrolled down so that some pictures are loaded "off the the top" of the part you are viewing.

Changing the battery in a Wireless Optical Mouse can sometimes correct matters.
