Has anyone had any dealings with this heir hunting firm? My son-in-law has had a communication from them regarding his father's family but without providing any details. Is there any way that he can find out himself what it relates to and if he can pursue it himself?

You can look through it and see if there is a relative who has left an unclaimed estate. But the heir hunting firm will have done a lot of research and it will probably be someone you never knew existed.

Yes , if you find an estate left by a relative you can make a claim. The instructions are on the web site. That way you save the heir hunters fee.

It says that heir hunters such as Fraser & Fraser charge up to 40% of the inheritance (but 15% is more common)
If you read right down to the last paragraph it tells you how to claim for yourself for nothing.
