If it was me, I'd have a quick thinking idea of inviting as many people as possible and because it is his 100th a massive milestone, ask everyone to contribute a 5 for the best party ever...20 people would get you 100 towards it and so on.

Isn't everybody looking for the same?

Have you got anything you could sell? On Ebay or at a car boot sale?

Other than that, if you find out a way, let me know!

Gardeningmad It's time for bedding plants soon, sell them on a stall enroute to B&Q, people will believe they've got a bargain and more a "home grown better quality product" and know something over the "mainstream" B&Qers thereby beating the Jones'. B&Q just being an example, you know your area.

Not an idea on making money, but don't forget to contact Buckingham Palace in good time so that your Great Grandfather receives a telegram from the Queen (or is it telemessage now?).

Helping to arrange a 100th party for a friends' Grandmother a few years back, I went into the local library, and using a microfiche, obtained a copy of the local newspaper for the day she was born. This cost next to nothing, but it generated a lot of interest for the guests at her party.

Hope everything goes well on the day!
