has anybody been watching this? (ch4 8.00pm thursday) neil is a wonderful man so caring, primarily for his patients but also for the people they own. i do however wonder where some people find the cash because the treatments and operations must be expensive. his staff are also very caring and not afraid to ask for help when over their head, great tv programme.

I think that we don't appreciate how expensive medical things can be because we never usually need to consider cost when using the NHS.
I haven't watched all of the Supervet programmes. He is a good vet but some of the people who approach him seem to be looking for miracles.

My dogs are insured, I would always want to do that and have good lifelong insurance. Eight years ago I had a dog with diabetes and because she was really distressed by the accompanying blindness, we had her cataracts operated on. It cost 1500 per eye and she needed one eye grafting because the incision broke down. The insurers (Pet Plan) covered everything except the 100 excess.
