Watching this tonight brought back so many memories of our boating past.
I remember being in a lock on the Thames, our little cruiser sandwiched between two enormous cruisers. The two women on the other boats having a conversation over the top of us. One of them said, looking down on us, "you do get some riffraff on the river nowadays don't you?" I still wish I'd said something!

We would get big bits of polystyrene from a factory skip and tie them together to make a raft....and off we would sail/paddle. Our stretch of the Grand Union was covered in tonight's episode. I doubt Tim West would take too kindly to a bunch of eleven year old's having fun on rafts - having seen what he did to the barge that got in his way in the last episode!
