"The owl and the pussy cat went to sea......

I was fascinated by The Jabberwocky:

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

A totally nonsensical poem, it really grabbed my attention and imagination

We obviously studied Walter de la Mere too. The two I remember are 'someone came a knocking at my wee small door....' and also 'poor tired Tim, it's sad for him.....' Both by de la Mere. We also had to learn the words of Jerusalem for a choir competition.
