Not sure, but it happened to me and we got just 4 weeks notice.

it happened at my works and it was 90 day consultation period.

Not knowing the law on this
I would say it is a change of a principal clause in the contract and they would therefore have to go thro the usual

The Union should be able to help ( can't be the first time ) but every now and then instead of giving an answer, they just say - yeah terrible innit ? ( can't be the first time )
