i need return an item which is faulty , i have lost reciept but bought it with my halifax visa card. item was bought last week.

what can i do ?

The store will probably offer to refund the purchase price back onto your card - that is standard practice.

I am not totally qualified to comment on consumer affairs but I believe you can exchange faulty goods without a receipt on a like for like basis but cannot get a money refund.If you had the receipt you would be able to ask for a money refund.That is what the mem sahib told me recently.

I do not have a reciept that is what i am saying. no proof of purchase .

what can i now do.
I suppose you just take the faulty item back in it's original wrapping.Show proof from a Halifax statement and ask for a like for like exchange.
Go up to the customer service desk and have a polite conversation with them.

Explain the situation - they could investigate using your credit card number if they wanted but probably won't.

I expect they will agree to replace the item, but not refund.
Take your credit card / bank statement along its not a receipt but it is proof of purchase.

sorted. ive to get bank statement.
you´re lucky, in Spain, well i dont know about the costas, but in madrid, no receipt, no can do!!
