I am looking for a book(s) that is/are fairly current (within the last 3/4 years) that explains how Sky TV changed the financial climate of British football. I am particulary interested in how players wages have escalated and the role of agents / ownership of players rights have become more promimant. Also how this has affected the world game (How spanish clubs have become so rich and dominant, and emerging leagues ie Bundesliga are competing with the EPL to become the games dominant league). Also how the game has been marketed to maximise profit from their fans through merchandise (deals with shirt manufacturers etc). How this has created a gap between the EPL and the lower leagues. How foreign players have affected the National squad. Phew quite a lot!!!! Any pointers would be much appreciated.
Can you wait three months? This is due for publication in June: http://www.foyles.co.uk/witem/business/money-and-football-a-soccernomics-guide,stefan-szymanski-9781568585260
