Ford Focus Boot Won't Open Without Key Fob.
Hi
Wondering if anyone can help. I have a 2010 focus estate (model that finished in 2011) and it has keyless entry and keyless start. My problem is the boot won't open when I try to open it with key in pocket via keyless entry.
The only way I can open the boot is if I use the key fob. Quite annoying as when I have hands full and need to acces load the boot I can't just open the boot like I should be able to.
I can press the black switch on the boot and the indicators flash but the boot won't unlock using that switch and if the tailgate is closed it is always locked.
What I mean is when the car is unlocked, the boot is still locked and I have to get the key out to unlock the boot.

My last car (same year etc but lower spec) disnt have keyless entry but the boot would be open if the car was unlocked. This one won't open if car unlocked.
so I am not sure if it was the switch or if it is something to do with the keyless entry system. (I've never had a fancy keyless system before) cars are just so technical these days.

On my Volvo (keyless entry) there is a setting which determines which doors unlock when you open another door. In other words, you can set it so that all the doors and boot unlock when you open the driver's door, or just the driver's door etc. Perhaps there's a similar setting on your Focus and yours is set to only unlock the passenger doors.
