Pub Ban

Hi there ,

I hope you can help me with this now as i am now super stressed and have had enough of this treatment .

I have been barred from my pub now for over two years..I was involved in an altercation in which i was simply defending myself after been hit .It was actually my friend who was involved in this fight .It blew over and we all went home .I have been drinking in that pub for over 30years as i live next to it .I have never been barred from anywhere in my life ! Since the incident 10 people were barred and told we were not allowed to come back in it .I was horrified as i had not started the fight and neither did my friend .I accepted this though and walked away .

Since then 5 new managers have taken over the pub and everyone who was barred has been allowed back in ..except me !

I now know why .My ex partner ,whom drinks in there,was convicted of domestic violence against me and was in breach of his bail should he go near the pub ,or anyone in my area ,as he was deemed a danger to me .He breached it several times after beating me and assaulting me several times .He eventually received a custodial sentence and it was suspended for 2years ,also bail conditions put in place to not contact me etc in any shape or form. The judge was not aware, when he made the bail conditions, that the pub he chose to drink in was next to my house .

I have since found out that a hate campaign has been set up towards me ..this includes the main male barmen in the pub,to keep me out of the pub ! It appears to be working and i am still refused service .I have been publicly humiliated at times by the men in the pub,i have been bullied ,i have been sworn at …and i cannot take anymore .This ban has made my life hell .I cannot go to the shop next to it for fear of being assaulted verbally ,mentally ,and from my ex ,physically .

I have asked the pub why i am still barred ,they use the fight as an excuse but that cannot be as everyone is allowed in except me .

Please tell me if i can do anything ,my life has been made hell .

Who a Landlord / tenant / manager let's into their premises is entirely at their discretion I'm afraid.

Are you sure that it is the pub ban making your life hell and not your partner-ex-partner ?

Having been almost banned from a pub, I had decided before taking the risk that I would be happy to drink somewhere else

My brother in law ran a pub and as far as I knew he was allowed to say who could come in and not come in and not give a reason. The power came with the licence

if they had bought a drink he had to allow time for them to drink up before chucking them out.

I think you have to drink somewhere else
Easy in Manchester and difficult I know perhaps in Little Piddock or Nether Stowey

I'm not sure why you want to go into a pub where you are not wanted. If the barman is bad-mouthing you he is hardly going to be pleasant if forced to serve you.

You have one problem you maybe be able to solve and one you never will. IF the magic fairy waived her wand and you were un barrred from the pub you would still have the problem of everyone in the pub 'having it in for you'. This you can't change. Can't you find another pub? Where have you been drinking for the last 2 years?

I assure you it not because i want to drink in there ,i want a reason and after having spoken to them today,the manager that is ,she had no answer to give me and told me to wait for it to calm down ,wait for what exactly ? I may be "hated" but the majority are my friends and have approached the several managers and asked why i am still barred despite having no valid reason .I have not been out much tbh since this is all going on ,i feel kinda isolated and a tad scared ? Yes been barred is hard simply because i live next to it and therefore it is difficult to pass it without feeling apprehensive.It was a simple question ..i feel as if i am been discriminated against and i wanted advice ..so many thanks i will take on board all that has been said ,cheeers ! ;)
