I have a 52 plate Ford Escort but being having trouble starting and 1 month ago had a new battery. The cars been standing for just over 2 weeks but will not start as the battery was flat.Just wondered if anything could be draining the batery or the battery no good, thanks

We've had a few cold nights this week, that can cause battery drain if the car isn't being used.

Are you doing enough mileage to put back into the battery what you have taken out by starting, radio on, Heater On, Wipers on, Rhar66? a lot of people only do short trips & do not realise what I have just stated.

Many thanks for all the answers. My mistake it's not an Escort its a Fiesta, I got it wrong as its my daughters car and at her house. thanks
