Sounds as though this "flipping cold" may well be an allergy as it has lasted this long, so I suggest that you call into your GP and he may give you some anti-histamines or indeed a short course of steroids if he feels it would be appropriate.
I was told by the pharmacist that if it lasted for more than 3 weeks then go to GP. Ended up with stress fracture of ribs due to violent coughing so ended up at Gp's and given anti-biotics as a precaution anyway.
Thank you for your answers, I've got to visit the gp early next week in any case, so will ask him about this then.
Poor you, penelope, sounds painful, I think that I've pulled a muscle in my chest from coughing.
Well I started with mine Christmas eve felt really rough for about 3 or four weeks. Doctor said it was a flu virus that was going around...As I was still coughing he sent me to have a chest xray....all clear....but still got this annoying tickly cough..which makes me cough so much until I urge and think I am going to be sick.!
Hope the spring will get warmer and we will all be better. x
lilacben. I sympathise I am never ill. In fact when my Yoga students heard me coughing in class they were really worried about the virus that had got me!
Mr.YS insisted I went to GP and he was shocked to see me! Checked chest said not infected and have to be patient, excuse the pun! That's fine, not a fan of antibiotics unless really essential. Just so tiring coughing all the time!
