What bothers me the most about this is that the only reason that parties continue this sort of shabby negative campaigning is that after all it must work -- at least to some extent. Research being what it is this days, seems unbelievable that the main parties would continue to do it otherwise.
As an aside, note how the second quote isn't complaining about a referendum, but about the dithering over whether to have one or not. Actually holding one would resolve the uncertainty that quote worries over as much as not doing so would. A bit bad for Labour not to spot that. And also the irony over campaigning for a democratic vote while simultaneously publishing this advert that basically says "yeah, big businesses are the ones that are going to make a decision on Europe, not you little people."
