Further to my recent post below RE: shortness of breath. Ive been to the GP this morning and hes sending me for blood tests and x ray. On the form to take with me, under clinical data it lists TAT,SOB, BMI. Can anyone tell me what TAT is? SOB is presumebly shortness of breath and BMI is body mass index? Also under 'request' it says blood picture includes FBC and Diff. (amongst others for glucose, liver etc) What is FBC and Diff?
(also got go for ecg....personally I think I'm just carrying too much lard)
Thanks.

Thanks guys.
//You get to see a doctor on a saturday? dont lose him,//
LOL, couldnt get in, in the week. One doctor in surgery for a few hours on a saturday morning.
i am guesing here but i think TAT might be thrombin-anti thrombin
I think it must be dependent on where you live, my daughter lives in London and regularly gets appointments on Saturday mornings. Good luck Nailit, at least it looks like you're getting a thorough MOT (Ministry of Transport) xx
Sorry to go off topic but my doctors are open 6 days a week...8am - 8pm most days. 12 noon on a Sat.
good for you for seeing your gp nailit. don't be missing any of those appointments. :)

//at least it looks like you're getting a thorough MOT // certainly seems that way...lot of faffing about if you ask me, think im just overweight.
I've always understood TAT to be tired all the time
I'm sure my surgery uses TAT to mean tired all the time, same as Frognog.

If TAT is 'tired all the time' then I dont know why GP has put it, I never told him that I was tired, exhausted or anything like it, only that I was getting breathless a lot.
They sometimes do TAT bloods when they're not sure what's the matter...so they check liver and kidney function, sugar levels, iron levels and goodness knows what else....take a whole armful of blood.......at least three phials.
Ask them when you get there.

Thanks Ladalex, that figures then, he did say he was asking for a complete blood test.
Thanks for all replies. Very helpful and much appreciated as always, cheers guys.
No bother, nailit.
Hope you get sorted out pronto.
Glad you're getting the 'works' !
I was a regular for a while and was almost disappointed when my results came back OK... meant the remedy was in my hands and on reflection i'm glad !
Hope this is the case for you :)

On a lighter note...I had bloods taken last year, got home and thought, that's strange my elbow is very bruised :/ On closer examination it wasn't my elbow ! I phoned my GP in a mad panic and it was a haematoma. Took a couple of months to disappear....the image of having two elbows however has left me traumatised ;) I'm suing them !
