Kenya trip - anti malayria tabs

Sorry I know there was something about this recently but I cannot find it. I am going to Kenya in July and have been arranging injections and also anti malayria tablets. Seemingly this is to cost me �67 on prescription - is that correct. What advice does anyone have? many thanks

depends exactly what tablets you take. Malarone will cost you something like that (the NHS don't do it). The good news is you only have to take them a day before and a week after, unlike other ones that need to be taken a week before and a month after - long after your holiday is over, which becomes easy to forget. Lariam may be cheaper but sometimes produces psychotic episodes, I believe. Older anti-malarials seem to work less well as resistance has been building up over the years.
