Scottish National day, today, at Ayr with 30 runners set to battle it out over 4 miles. As per usual in these large field well-established handicaps, stats are in abundance and, having wielded the scythe a few times, i am left with just a few to choose from, only one of which is Irish-bred (French-bred have won 4 of last 7, Irish-bred won the other 3). So, a small(ish) e.w punt on;

Indian Castle @ 25/1

Although 7yo's have a terrible record in this race, Alan King has trained the winner of this race in 2013 and last year's 2nd and he has one here which does tick a few of the trends boxes. So it's another small(ish) e.w. on;

Sego Success @ 14/1

The 2 horses finished 4th and 5th behind Cause Of Causes at Cheltenham recently, so there ought not to be too much between them.
