Morecambe And Wise Tonight

Inoffensive and brilliantly daft humour that to my mind never ages. What a wonderful legacy these two genuinely funny men have left to the world. Innocent laughter.

No doubt those lines would not have been as funny delivered by any other comedians, but I think more credit should be given to those scriptwriters. Even what appeared to be ad libs were actually rehearsed.
Some brilliant funny sketches and full credit to the singers (Bassey) etc who sacrificed their dignity to be part of the fun.
Sketches yes, but one of their stage routines shown at Xmas was, frankly, a bit of a drag, and I can see why many people were slow to appreciate them.
Similarly, re-runs of Tommy Cooper are often disappointing - routines funny if uneven, but sketches not so good.
The Two Ronnies IMO the most consistently funny.
