Why is Saturday night television so dire?
Are we all expected to be out enjoying ourselves?

We are probably all meant to be out in our gardens, having a barbecue in the lovely english summer. It's been chucking it down here for the past two hours and the heating's come on!
Apart from weekday quiz programs, Saturday night is my fave night on TV, I've no interest in sport or politics and light stupid entertainment is easy on my mind, I just get lost in it, then I watch Gogglebox during week and see if they agreed/disagreed with my way of thinking

I've taken to watching repeats of 'Foyle's War' on ITV3 between 8 and 10 on a Sat evening. Then i channel hop for about an hour before switching the tv off, donning the cans and listening to some proper music - having cranked the volume up to as high as my ears will stand it:-)

R.I.P. Saturday Evening TV

Antigone - a good one for juliet binoche watchers
and The trial - Kafka

and on the news horrific videos of what it is like being avalanched
My must watch show even ( though they are repeats) is Inspector Montalbano on BBC4.
