I assume 21 is art DECO and 22d looks like elitist, but I am not happy with the latter.

We have Deco and Elitist
Agree with Jim Jools and yourself. The wrong tense of 'elitist' appears to be a quirk of the compiler - eg last week's 'troubadour' as an answer to a 'plural' question. Doesn't exactly fill one with confidence!

Anyone else have issues with 1d too?

The clue leads to NIELSON, but shouldn't it be NIELSEN? The OED and the Danish Carl Nielsen Society thinks so and I reckon they could be considered a definitive sources!

It would seem that Nielsen should be the correct answer, however the clue does suggest Nielson.( anagram of Nelson and I (eye) )

I chose NIELSON

I've gone for NIELSEN so far but it's still in pencil.
